Pzerotheartist - Daenerys Targaryen Slave Leia

 A while back, I commissioned the artist Pzerotheartist to do an art piece I've always wanted to see done. 

It's based on a piece done by a cosplayer named Novella Nikita who did this piece: Daenerys Targaryen Slave Leia.

So I asked Pzerotheartist to draw the line art and I would add in the colors.  In doing the colors, I knew that I had my work cut out for me, especially with the scales on the boots, but I wanted to do the colors just like what was done in the original cosplay.  I found it a little odd how the colors of blue was used for Daenerys Targaryen since the colors of the Targaryen house is more black and red.  This came to an issue when I was doing the background in which I did a black and red initially but in talking with my friend Hooksnfangs who convinced me to do a background that doesn't contrast too much or too hard against the foreground character.

Liefeldianabomination - Ice Fighter Fusion

Another artist I like to commission, @liefeldianabomination, has a very lovely knack for doing fusions.  And so I asked them to do a fusion of three characters:  Elsa (Frozen), Sub-Zero (Mortal Kombat) and Grey Fullbuster (Fairy Tail).  All three ice users, or cryokenetics or cryomancers if you will, fused into one person.  How cool is this?

Nippy13 - Jedi Master Elsa

When I was attending Anime L.A., I met a cosplayer who had done a rather interesting mash-up.  The mash-up was Disney and Star Wars and she was doing Elsa as a “Slave Leia”.

I saw it and liked it but then I thought that as titillating as it was, I figured that Elsa wouldn’t be a slave at all.  So then I thought it over about the different aspects and professions in the Star Wars universe that would fit her.  And given her abilities, I decided that Elsa should be a Jedi.  With that in mind, I called upon an artist I know who has always done amazing work when it came to mimicking the Disney style whether it was 2D or 3D characters:  Nippy13

I sent a message to her making it a lineart/sketch commission.  The idea I had in mind was that Elsa would be wearing Jedi Robes, but also her tunic would be similar to the corset of her “ice dress”.  As for her lightsaber hilt, I went through various sites that made lightsaber props for cosplay and so on.  Among them was a site called “Saber Forge”.   The model that I wanted Elsa to have had to be something very sleek, simple and elegant.  And so, I came upon one that fight that description, but the name of it really laid the irony on rather thick.   The name of the lightsaber model was called: “the Princess”.

After Nippy13 had done the artwork itself, it was up to me to put in the colors.  Immediately, I didn’t want Elsa to be wearing the drab earthtones of the traditional Jedi Robes.  Instead, I used the colors from her ice dress as a pallet, the blues and a little purple.  And of course, I had to make her lightsaber blade blue.

As for the background, I had agonized on that one for quite a while trying to figure out a setting to put her in that would work with my abilities.   FInally, I picked the Death Star Hallway.  The panels for that were relatively simple to reproduce thanks to a few images I found here and there.  After that it was a matter of recreating the sheen and reflection in the floor.  All it takes is a little opacity change, mirroring the image above and viola.

Len Barboza - Green Lantern Shinji Jordan

This is the colored lineart of Green LanternShinji Jordan that was drawn for my by Len Barboza

Some of you may already know of the other works that were done in this particular vein of Shinji as a Green Lantern for a fan fiction that ClassicCowboy and I are working on.
In doing this one, I decided to try to rework the coloring of Shinji’s Green Lantern uniform. I drew inspiration, or a template if you will, from Hal Jordan’s uniform. Namely how it has green around the torso, shoulders and boots, while everything else is black and his gloves were white. Which seems appropriate given how in the context of the story for which this picture is based, “Emerald Genesis”, Hal Jordan is Shinji’s adoptive father.

For the background, what I did was I found pictures of the hallways of NERV headquarters within the context of the Evangelion series. Using the colors from that, I used an airbrush tool and a little blurring method and that created the background you see here. I also followed the advice of S2X who advised that I should blur the entire background just a little bit. In trying this out, I found out that by doing it, it gives a greater sense of depth perception. Such as how the character in the foreground is in focus while everything else is a little blurred. Without this, things tend to look a little too flat and with the lines and colors that I used it’d distract too much from the character himself.

Emerald Genesis Poster

This is a poster to promote the fan fiction that ClassicCowboy and I have been writing together: a fusion story of Neon Genesis Evangelion and Green Lantern.

The premise of it is that Shinji was abandoned but instead of being raised in Japan he was sent to America and was raised by Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris. This basically made Shinji into a very different individual. He’s not the weak-willed individual from the original. Instead, he’s a confident and rather assertive individual.

However, this doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have challenges. Only this time the challenges are going to be very different. Especially when Hal gives him the Power Ring and Shinji must not only pilot the Eva but also wield the Green Lantern’s ring against the Angels.

Then the question becomes if he can keep this a secret for long from those around him. In particular, Gendo Ikari and Seelee who have taken an interest in the Emerald Power.

To give you an idea of why I stress the idea of “read the description” is often I run into people, especially on DeviantArt, who can’t seem to follow this simple instruction. 
Here’s an Example:

StarDragon77: Did you read the description?

lostsoldierS636:  No but still it is THE WORST IDEA FOR A DRAWING IVE EVER SEEN!!
StarDragon77:   Then you don’t know the context of the story for the picture. So therefore all you did was jump to your own conclusions.

This is why I had put up the notice of “Read the description”. *shakes head* But nobody does.
lostsoldierS636:  I dont really care what the story is, its just that Shinji is a complete p@$$^ and would never be granted the MOST POWERFUL WEAPON IN THE FREAKING UNIVERSE
StarDragon77:  You’re still missing the point, in this version Shinji isn’t a complete wuss. And if you took the time to read that you’d have found that out.

StarDragon77:  For one, in this story, Shinji Ikari isn’t raised by his teacher as in the original. Instead, he’s adopted by Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris. And so he’s grown up to very a very different individual from what we’ve seen in canon. In this version he’s a lot more confident and also a little sarcastic.

lostsoldierS636:  Well shiiit. That was actually pretty good. It’s amazing actually, just get them out faster.
StarDragon77:  In that case, have I convinced you of Shinji being a Green Lantern?
lostsoldierS636:  Shiiiit. Fine fine I’m convinced. But a few questions 1. Why does Carol have to mention the fan service and crap, couldn’t that be done by someone else? Second, Carol would never do that also why haven’t you mentioned that Carol happens to be a STAR SAPPHIRE!!! Have you read Blackest Night, if you have thank you but if not, for shame. Any way I’m convinced, by the way if a Lantern is killed, the ring goes to someone else, Hal’s still alive so why did he give the ring to Shinji? He’d have to make a copy of the ring in order for that to work, besides you also have Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, and John Stewart as lanterns as the same sector Hal is. Just bringing that up so yeah I’m convinced.

Len Barboza - Edward Elric 4th Year Gryffindor

This is a lineart that I had colored and had commissioned of aquarina-chan.

This is essentially a redux of a previous picture I did, Edward Elric 4th Year Gryffindor

I know that there are some people who are going to give arguments about how Edward Elric should be in whatever house that they are more included towards but hey leave the arguments outside.

Evangelion Voltron

This is a logo that I designed with my friend ClassicCowboy for his crossover fic Neon Genesis Voltron

The basic idea behind this was to blend the logos of both Voltron and Eva. Or in this case the royal crest and the Nerv logo. In blending the two together I had tried to think of a way to morph the slogan for Nerv so that would fit in with the Voltron fic. Originally, the slogan “God’s in his heaven and all is right with the world” was from a Robert Frost poem so after talking with ClassicCowboy we came up with “God’s in his heaven, Voltron’s on Earth, and all is well in the Universe.”

The reason why I made two versions is because I wanted to make another nod to the Evangelion universe where one of the logos there is red against a black background.
