Coloring Commission - Rudeboy308 - Ketsuga - Beth

Here we have the latest coloring commission made to me by the wonderfully loyal patron, Rudeboy308.  This one is a piece of one of the ladies who works for Rudeboy308HQ, the wrestler named Beth. 

At the time that the commission was made to me, I had asked about what kind of background to put in.  The idea that was presented was to have her coming down the ramp at a wrestling event.  When I had made the background I couldn't help but think of Beth saying some kind of line like what I have heard in various wrestling programs.

Such as "IF YOU SMELL WHAT THE BETH IS COOKING!"

But all that aside, thanks to Rudeboy308 for commissioning me.

Coloring Commission - CallMePo - Rudeboy308 - Beth

This is another coloring commission that @rudeboy308 had me do of another quick-n-dirty sketch that @callmepo did for him.

When Rudeboy308 had asked me to do this picture, he wanted me to not only color her but also put in a background here she was standing in the middle of the wrestling ring holding up her championship belt in victory.  When he told me that I instantly had this idea of Beth bathed in the white light, the ropes of the ring behind her, and the area behind that completely black dotted with the lights of camera flashes going off all at the same time.  It’s an effect I’ve seen happen where people are at major sporting events and they all take pictures making the audience look like they’re sparkling. 

When I asked Rudeboy308 about where this character was from, he told me that it was a character he thought of after coming across some random pictures.  And so he used it for an idea for an ex-wrestler/bodyguard and he named her “Beth”.  Although, the letters for the belt are a bit of a mystery.  Could mean “Big Damn Muscles” or something else entirely. 

But the end result is something I was quite satisfied with and Rudeboy loved it as well.

CallMePo - Greek Style Colored

To keep my coloring skills sharp, I had been looking for other linearts to color.  Among them were some of the commissions that were made to by CallMePo by Cypher3au . I had asked him if there were any that he didn’t mind having colored and there were some that were already colored and he sent me some of the high resolution pictures.  Among them were some more Power Girl/Wonder Woman pieces.

I often heard stories about how in Ancient Greece physical workouts were done nude and that it was also in Greece where oil wrestling had first originated.  So, with that in mind I began to try to see what I could do with this piece.  Everything was pretty easy given the other pieces I had done for Cypher3au that involved Wonder Woman and Power Girl.  But the thing that made this one the trickiest was the fact that there was going to be a lot of sharp highlights thanks to the oil.  So there had to be more detail thrown in there.

After it was done, I set my sights on the background.  My first instinct was to go with a locker room which was pretty easy to do, just needed to set up the lockers, combine the layers and skew it a little to give the illusion of depth.

I then sent it to Cypher3au and he told me that his initial idea was that they would be in the arena on Themyscira (Wonder Woman’s homeland) but he then said that the idea of them doing this in the locker room of the Justice League watchtower was just as titillating.

So, I’m rather happy how this turned out and it gave me a chance to stretch a little in terms of skill.
