CallMePo - Commission - Asami’s Bath

What we have here is a commissioned lineart that I colored.  The lineart was done by CallMePo.  Originally, I had seen a sketch of this called “Water Shocker” and I felt that it was too good to let it go to waste so I called him up and asked to have him digitally line it and he said “yes” (although it was for a price which was no problem).  Afterwards I set about to color it.  The only real difficulty, in my opinion, was coloring the background.  But right now I’m not completely satisfied with it, so if anyone out there has any expertise in background coloring, let me know.

Blue-ten - Nude waterbending on the Ocean

This is a colored version of the commission of StarDragon77 Commission 2 that was done for me by Blue-ten.

I first got interested in this when I saw his Massive Sketch Dump.

In there I saw a girl who was moving water about. My eyes instantly locked on it and I immediately sent out a note to him asking him to develop that particular sketch further as a commission. He did say that he wasn’t technically open for commissions but he was willing to make an exception in the case of this drawing. I guess it was because there were so many that liked it as well and wanted to see it developed.

Even though there is “waterbending” in this picture the character depicted is not from “Avatar the Last Airbender” or “Legend of Korra”.

Blue-ten - Nude Waterbending

This was another drawing that I had been meaning to color for quite a long long time.  It was a commission that was done for me by Blue-ten  Originally, because of the great work that I had seen him do on Avatar-based artwork I wanted him to do a grown-up/adult version of Katara.  However, he told me that he wasn’t comfortable doing fan art commissions.  So we decided on something that was Avatar-based but not any of the characters themselves.

So I would urge the MODs who are looking at this, this ISN’T Katara herself.  It is basically a very different character.  So there isn’t any risk of “depicting underage characters” in this particular piece of artwork.

Bokuman - Shinkei Waterbending

This is the colored version of the New Commission that Bokuman did for me.

For this one, I asked him to have my character Shinkei do some waterbending (Water Tai Chi) similar to Katara in “Avatar the Last Airbender”.  I admit that I did base Shinkei off of Avatar but I made several changes here and there.  Such as Shinkei comes from a dojo where elemental martial arts is taught and in order to gain the title of master he has to go on a journey to learn the hidden elements for himself.

For this peice it was rather difficult because of the way the water is and I wanted to try to make it look like water.  So after coloring Shinkei and getting to it I decided to try to use a few tricks I know - mainly dealing with layer type in photoshop (types like Screen, Multiply, etc).  Unfortunately those didn’t work so I tried to tune the opacity level of the layer.  Getting it down to about 85% and it gives the water a slightly transparent look.

Again, it is a shame that Clash of the Titans forum RPG is no more because of how good this character is.
