Coloring Commission - CallMePo - Cypher3au - Fleur’s Second Thoughts

This is the colored version of the lineart called ”Second Thoughts“ that was drawn by @callmepo as a commission to @cypherthree

The premise of this one is that Fleur Delacour is having second thoughts about the choice of swimsuit for the cold Scottish lake.

In terms of coloring, this one was both easy as it was hard.  The initial easy part was coloring Fleur, the dock and the tentacle rising out of the lake.  The hard part came when I was charged to creating a background.  At Cypher’s request he asked that the background look something similar to a Scottish lake.  so, I took my time getting the surface of the lake right, the hills, the coloring of the hills, texturizing and so on.  But the initial pallet I chose was green hills and a blue lake.  Thanks to my colleague, , she told me that blue is more appropriate for oceans instead of lakes. So I changed it to a muddy green type of color.  Thinking I was finished, I showed it to Cypher and then I found out that I made a bit of a mistake.  The mistake being that it was supposed to be a winter scene.  So, I needed to change it to look like it’s in the middle of winter.  Which would also explain why Fleur’s nipples look hard enough to cut glass.

But after dealing with the change and adding in a few extra effects, the pic was done.

Coloring Commission - Cypher3au - Miranda Lawson

Here is a coloring commission that was made to me by one of my more regular commissioners, Cypher3au, of a sketch that was done by CallMePo.  Essentially what Po was doing was a series of “Quick-n-Dirty sketches” and a lot of them were incredible and among them was a batch done for Cypher3au.

Here’s the original:  Quick-N-Dirty Sketches - Miranda Lawson

Among the three that Cypher3au had given to me, this one was probably the most difficult because of how a lot of the picture was sketched in, or darkened in, and so I essentially had to go in and color it.  What made it extra tricky was how I was doing this over the holidays of Christmas and New Years.  But it was during New Years Eve that I managed to finish it.  So in essence, this piece is the last picture of 2015.

So with that in mind, I say to all of you “Happy New Year” and let us hope that the next year will be better.

Coloring Commission - Cypher3au - CallMePo - Sailor Uranus Black Dog Cover

This is probably my favorite of the series of commissions that Cypher3au has asked me to color:  Sailor Uranus, ala Black Dog cover style.  From what Cypher3au had told me, Black Dog was a set of fan made hentai comics that feature the Senshi.  And often they were featured in a style similar to this.

Here’s the original sketch:  Quick-n-Dirty Sketch Sailor Uranus

This was one sketch that I couldn’t pass up as far as the opportunity to color since Sailor Uranus is my absolute favorite of the Sailor Senshi.  In the course of coloring her (which was during the hullabaloo of the Holiday weekend) I had a rather interesting idea.  I had the notion of having Uranus having a tattoo on her buttock cheek.  At first I Thought of the notion of having her own symbol there but then after discussing it with Cypher3au he suggested her having Sailor Neptune’s symbol and I thought that was a far better idea.  And here is where I was thankful for Photoshops tools of warping the symbol in order to give it the appearance of going over the curved surface of her buttocks.

My thanks to Cypher3au and CallMePo for letting me do color this.

Coloring Commission - CallMePo - Cypher3au - Fleur and Neena on Holiday

This is the latest coloring commission that was made to me by Cypher3au of a faovorite pair:  Fleur Delacour and Neena that was drawn by callmepo

Original Line art here:  Mature Commission for Cypher3au

From what Cypher3au told me about this, the basic setup is that Fleur and Neena are on holiday in the French Rivera and are cruising around looking at all the beautiful men.
In the course of the commission I had asked him if he wanted a background.  He told me ‘no’ given that he was limited on budget.  So, I had asked if he could what would he want done and the setup, since Fleur and Neena are in high heels, maybe they’d be on the boardwalk just next door to the beach and looking out.  Already I had imagined it, there’d be a shop in the background and they’re just strolling along and saying to each other, “Oh, I’d have him.  and him.”

“Oh, such a buffet of beefcake.”

Shame that I couldn’t do a background, but maybe in the future I’ll have something done.
Anyway, everyone, In the past month, a lot of car expenses had hit me, such as my breaks, registration, getting it smog checked and so on.  So I’ve been making an effort to get as many commissions as I can from various people that I know.

Coloring Commission - Power Girl as Thor by CallMePo

This is the most recent coloring commission of a sketch/lineart that was done by CallMePo

Original sketch here:  Power Girl Thor One-shot

[Note:  I don’t know how long this link will stay because of how DeviantArt seems intent on deleting Po’s stuff now.]

However, in a rather unusual turn of events, the sketch was commissioned to Po by Cypher3au but the coloring of this lineart was made to me by Grey-Forrester.

It’s unusual because usually the people who commission me to color linearts are people who commissioned the linearts in the first place.  So, in order not to get any kind of confusion put out tehre, I contacted Cypher3au and told them of the situation and whether it was alright to go ahead with it.  I was given permission and went ahead.

I knew that this was going to be a tough commission, not just because of the armor itself but because of how detailed it was.  So, I thought over about what the colors would be.  I decided to go with the Power Girl uniform colors, the white, gold, blue and red.

Next came the painstaking process of coloring the armor itself.  Thankfully I had a good long playlist to keep my mind entertained while my hands were being entertained by this.

Initially, I wanted to do a background.   Given that this is Power Girl in Thor’s armor, I thought that what would make for a nice background is if she were standing on the Bifrost bridge (The Rainbow Bridge) and the bridge would be streaking through the vastness of space itself.  But as things turned out, my commissioner only had enough of a budget for me to color Power Girl herself.  Oh well, right?

Coloring Commission - Cypher3au - Damn Elevators

Here is a coloring commission that was made to me by Cypher3au of a lineart that was done for him by FedGDPerry

When I looked at the picture and saw the complexity that was involved in it, I knew that it was going to be a challenge.  And I do admit that I was overwhelmed when I started the task.  For one the lineart is in a style that I had never done or experienced before.  So this provided it’s own unique challenges.  The other part that made things a little more difficult is that these characters are ones that I’m not familiar with, so I asked Cypher about them, and he told me that they were fusions of characters from the games “Mass Effect” as well as “Dragon Age”.  That answered a few questions I had but it did add another layer of challenge since I had never played either Mass Effect or Dragon Age, even though I want to.  But when you have limited budgets, getting an Xbox is pretty out of the question.  But thankfully, Cypher had some reference images of the women involved in this picture that I could use.

The one that I had the most fun with was the one at the right, Miriam Hawke, main reason was because of the holograms that she was using.  Something that I had never done before and never really had the opportunity to do.  So, I used a few techniques from making lightsabers in the creation of it.

After the others were done, it came down to the background of the elevator which wasn’t that hard, just a little base, dark colors, light colors, blurring and an overlay of the light source and there you have it.

Coloring Commission - CallMePo - Reading

This is the colored version of a lineart that was drawn by CallMePo commissioned to him by Cypher3au and the colors were added in by me.

This one was probably the biggest and most detailed piece I’ve done.  In terms of layers that were done in photoshop, it was over 100 layers.   The reason is because that each piece of clothing had so many different pieces as opposed to other clothing that I’ve done where each piece was just one color.

These two characters, from what Cypher3au told me, are Isabella and Bethany from the game “Dragon Age”.
So, I had to use a pattern for the floor.

The pattern I picked up from rifificz at DeviantArt.com
Nice piece of work, don’t you think?

CallMePo - Daria - Second Thoughts

This is the colored version of “Second Thoughts” which was drawn by CallMePo and was commissioned to him by Cypher3au.

This was the initial picture that had prompted me to send the message to Cypher3au to ask if I could have the high resolution version of the picture so that I could color it. Although, the setup to it was stated by CallMePo as this: “Daria has seconds thoughts about taking her sister’s place as one of the popular people when Quinn tries to be an intellectual- Jane Lane kind of likes the change.”

I don’t know if this was a setup made by Cypher3au or if this is something that had actually happened within the series itself but it is a nice idea: Daria being even hotter than before. What’s not to like about that? Although I think that she should have kept her glasses.

Anyway, just to keep within the color palette that I used before, I tried to keep the same colors for this setup as with Daria’s original outfit. The tan shirt, charcoal for the pants and I used the green of her jacket for the panties. I figured it’d be a nice nod to it. Especially given the fact that she isn’t wearing her iconic jacket in this setup. I will admit that I copied and pasted the background that I used in “Jane and Brittany Are Inked” but then again it does seem to be the most appropriate background to use.
