JulyViolet - Animated Harem Maggie Mui's Pregnancy Test

As I have promised, I am working towards finishing this series of images from the Animated Harem.

Next here, we have Maggie Mui from R.O.D. the TV/Read or Dream, and just like how I had this one piece done by BlushMallet where Maggie is showing off the positive pregnancy test while holding a copy of the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting", becuase anyone who has watched Read or Die or any of the other stories around it will know that this is exactly what any of the Paper ladies would do; find a book about the subject.

The real trick of this one was to do the background becuase I knew that for Maggie, you can't really do anything else as far as what to put in the background.  The reason why I say that is becuase of one part in "R.O.D. the TV' where Maggie is denied books for a whole day and she starts to feel very ill.  Almost like she had been deprived of air, water, or food.  And this is what I love about these characters in this particular anime, it makes heroes out of people whom are, more often than not, put into more support roles, like being the guy in the van or the guy sitting behind a screen while the "important one" is the one doing all the cool stuff.  In this series, it's the bookworm that is doing the cool stuff and doing the nerdy/geeky stuff after everything is done.  Which is why I'm surprised there wasn't a moment when someone says, "could we finish this fight fast?  I have a book I want to read as soon as I get home."

I'm very thankful for the way that JulyViolet did this picture in doing Maggie's paper suit and it's my hope that I had done the colors and background just right for it.

Head on over to JulyViolet's patreon to support them:  JulyViolet Patreon

And please be sure to head over to my Patreon to help support me to continue to bring out more artwork from both JulyViolet, myself and others.  StarDragon77 Patreon

BlushMallet - Animated Harem Maggie Mui is Expecting

Continuing the series of "My Animated Harem" from the artist BlustMallet we have Maggie Mui showing off her positive pregnancy test.  When I approached BlushMallet for this next commission, I knew immediately what I wanted Maggie to do.  I wanted her to be fully dressed in her "Paper Clothes", holding the test and holding a copy of the, pretty much the pregnancy bible:  What to Expect when You're Expecting.  Every pregnant woman I've ever met goes to this book so I knew that Maggie would be getting this book for a time like this.  And of course her having that signature blushing look on her face.

When it came time to color, it felt somehow a lot easier, maybe it's because I've colored so many line arts of Maggie that it seems second nature or because the lines that Blushmallet does are so easy to work with.  And as repetitive as it is, doing art of her against the bookcase is completely in character.  Sames goes for the falling paper in her background.

My thanks to BlushMallet for allowing me to commission them for this.

JulyViolet - Animated Harem Maggie Mui

And now here comes one of my favorite members of the animated harem: Maggie Mui from “R.O.D. the TV” drawn by @julyviolet and colored by me.  As I had suggested to JulyViolet, i had asked for something that was within character for Maggie, namely that she would be holding a book and looking very embarassed.

Just like the one that I had done by @blushmallet I had to throw in a background where there is a bookcase.  After all, given how much Maggie reads she needs a bookshelf in the same way a person needs air.

My thanks to JulyViolet for the work that they’ve done for this piece.

Blushmallet - Animated Harem - Maggie Mui

This is the fourth in the “Animated Harem” series that I had @blushmallet draw and I added color.  I have a feeling that many of you won’t know who this one is so I’ll give you a background to her.
There’s a somewhat obscure anime called “Read or Die” or “R.O.D.” in which it features a woman named Yomiko Readman who has the ability to manipulate paper to her will.  She can make anything with it from a sword to a giant paper airplane and even a whole building.  That was in the original OVA (Original video animation) which then led to a anime series called “Read or Die TV” or “R.O.D. the TV” which features three sisters called “The Paper Sisters” who are a small detective agency.  Among these Paper Sisters is Maggie Mui who I fell for instantly.  She’s very tall, for anime standards, at about 6 foot 1 inches, her favorite writer is Hemmingway, she’s a little bit of a tomboy and she likes small places where she can curl up and read.  In fact there was a small part in the anime where she took a table cloth and covered a table with it so that she could get underneath it to read.  And her sister, Michelle, referred to it as “nesting”.

So with that in mind, I had to add her to my small “animated harem” series.  So I sent off the idea to @blushmallet and given how easily embarrassed Maggie is, I wanted her in a pose that was sexy and bashful.  Such as she’s showing off but also covering up.  And her coverup choice had to be a book, and the most classic piece of erotic literature I could think of was “Lady Chatterley’s Lover”.  And of course, she had to be wearing a collar with my logo on it just like the others in the series.
After BlushMallet was done with it I was pleased as punch with the work that was done.  But then came the task of coloring it, which was hard given the new job I’m in that leaves very little time to color.  But when my day off came I went ahead with it.  Coloring Maggie was easy but the tricky task of making up a background.  For this one I decided to give her a background of a bookstore which is the most apt thing for her.  And I had to throw in that she was standing near the “erotica section”.  Getting the angles right on the bookshelf was the REALLY hard part but in all I think it came out well.

And for an extra piece, I had to throw in the “falling paper” which is something that happens a lot in the series almost as much as rose petals in shoujo manga/anime.  (See Sailor Moon, Ouran Host Club, etc)

All in all I think it came out quite well, don’t you think so, my followers?
My thanks again so much to @blushmallet for their beautiful work on this and I look forward to more linearts in the future.

Happy Birthday, StarDragon77

Yes, it is my birthday, today.  And knowing that my birthday was coming soon, I called up one of the artists I commission.  The artist here is lenbarboza. I called upon them and asked if they wouldn’t mind doing a special image for me.  The image I had in mind was of Elsa (Frozen) and Maggie (Read or Die), two women that my friend, clock-heart calls my “waifus”.  Heh, and the idea I had for them was basically similar to what was done in “Frozen Fever” that the two of them would be standing together and holding a birthday cake for me.

Initially, the background was pretty much blank so I had to fill that in myself.  So I called upon another friend of mine, KillerChibis, to help out.  I had already drawn out the outline for the table and such and she gave a few hints as far as what to do and then that was that.  The picture itself was done, I think sometime in August, so I had essentially finished coloring Maggie and Elsa as well as the cake within one weekend but the background took a little longer.  So, I worked on it little by little.  At one point, it was just the table, the presents on it and a banner saying “Happy Birthday” in the background. But I wasn’t satisfied with that.  I needed it to look like a real “mother of a blowout”.  So, I added in some balloons.  The color scheme for it was inspired by a piece that my friend, clock-heart did that used a lot of colors in it.  The piece that I’m talking about is a “Trickster Nep” and here it is: Trickster Nep

So I used the colors from the candies in there for the balloons as well as the confetti.

Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes for this year.

YamerPro - Chibi Nenene

This is a chibi that was done for me by Yamer over at her Fiverr page.

This one is a throwback to one of my favorite animes, R.O.D. the TV, what makes this such a refreshing anime is that the women aren’t all bouncy and high energy like a bunch of ADD kids on a combination of crack and sugar.  Instead they seem to act at a rather even pace in terms of behavior.

This particular character, Nenene Sumerigawa, is a novelist who has a connection with the original series protagonist, Yomiko Readman.  But all that is revealed later on.  But what I find most admirable about her is that she has a certain grit to her.  Such as, there was a situation in which she was on a plane being taken hostage by an armed gunman who was a failed author and in a fit of annoyance she raised her middle finger to him and then stuck her finger into the barrel of his gun and said in his face, “I am nothing like you.  Because to me there’s nothing more pathetic than a hack like you.”

Compare this to a lot of other anime women who are either overpowered fighters (i.e. Erza from “Fairy Tail”) or the kind that stand on the sidelines continually calling out the names of the male fighters (i.e. Sakura from “Naruto”).

S2X - Maggie in her Towel

This was a commission by the wonderful S2X. He has a page over at S2X’s Hentai Foundry Page as well as a small page at S2X’s BlogSpot Page.

Moving on, since S2X did such a wonderful job with the last few commissions that he did for me I wanted him to do another. Again I wanted him to do another of Maggie but in a different kind of setting. You’ll probably notice that it’s similar to Oh Behave, Maggie I just had him extend the picture and dress Maggie in a towel.

For some reason when it comes to a woman in a towel there is something erotic about it. Almost like you know that there is only that one layer of material that separates her bare skin to the open air.

The part that was rather troubling was making the steam in the picture but I applied the same technique I know of when it comes to smoke, just make it white and viola you have steam.

Though I’m not sure about putting up a warning in this one since there is no real nudity.

S2X - Oh Behave, Maggie!

This was a commission by a great artist who goes by the name of S2X.  He has a page over at Hentai Foundry as well as a small page at BlogSpot.

Since S2X did such a wonderful job with the last one I decided to commission him once again for another Maggie pic, but like many artists there are pros and cons.  Mainly price since the more complex the picture the higher the price (which is understandable).

The inspiration for this picture came from Zekk and her picture Oh Behave - Redder Hair

S2X - Maggie’s Gift Picture

This was a commission by a great artist who goes by the name of S2X.  He has a page over at Hentai Foundry as well as a small page at BlogSpot.

This picture was based on something that S2X did in a piece called Misato Photo where we see a less inhibited Misato Katsuragi (Neon Genesis Evangelion) sending a much better photo to Shinji.

Being inspired by what I saw of it, I asked him to do something similar, but do it for Maggie Mui from R.O.D. The TV (and Read or Dream respectively) he did the lineart and I did the coloring.

Playtoon Cover - Yomiko Readman

I wanted to draw another girl for the month of July since I had been inspired by the latest challenge set forth by 14-bis.

As for the pose, I borrowed it from one of the images of the Read or Die manga, with a lot of modifications here and there.  Although it did give me the opportunity to add some dynamic to the actual picture itself.   Such as Yomiko’s hair and tie flapping around as if there was a breeze going through the studio during the shoot.

In relation to the headlines, it was Yomiko’s headline that started me on this - the idea that a quiet librarian would spill all to a magazine like Playtoon.  One can only imagine what dishy secrets that she would spill to her interviewer.

Second is about the Paper Sisters from R.O.D. the TV (Michelle Chan, Maggie Mui, and Anita King) about the subject of banned books, which I think would be very relavent to such a trio who have such a love for books.

Third, the headline about DeviantArt viewers.  (Not all of them.  Don’t get nervous).  This is about the ones that just go around looking for art that’s offensive and report it.  Such as the art of some of my fellow artists.  (And if you’re a DA troll, you know who you are).  And really, it made me think are they art appreciators or are they simply rogue censors?

For a fourth headline I thought it’d be fun if the writer from R.O.D. the TV (Nenene Sumerigawa) did a short story for the magazine.

Bokuman - Maggie Mui Number 05

This is a colored version of the Maggie Mui05 commission that Bokuman did for me.

The idea behind this particular one was that I wanted to model Maggie in a jacket that I had designed for her, which is in my “scraps” section called Maggie Mui Suit Dress

I reasoned that since Maggie is tomboy-ish and not prone to wearing dresses and such, I figure why not try to create something that’s a combination of the two?  Something that has the look of both a tuxedo jacket and a dress.  Though, I think I should have designed pants for her.  Heh-heh.  Oh well, it’s still a good view, wouldn’t you say?

Bokuman - Maggie Mui on All Fours

This is a colored version of the Maggie Lineart commission that Bokuman did for me.

This one makes it the 4th Maggie Mui peice that he’s done for me.  I know that there are those who are wondering “How many Maggie’s are you going to get?”  And to be honest, I don’t know becuase really there are so many artists out there who do a good job of it.  Bokuman, being one of them, and the other being S2X.

Bokuman - R.O.D. the TV - Maggie Mui

This was another commission piece that was done for me by Bokuman.

Since he did such a wonderful job with Maggie Mui, I asked him to do another one

I had asked Bokuman if I could color it and post it here, and according to his commission policy it said it was perfectly alright.  And little did I know that applying my cel-like coloring style would flesh it out so much.

The other part that I was agonizing over was what to color the square background behind Maggie Mui.  I tried using the color I used before, but I didn’t want to be repetative, so I went with different colors.   Such as the red that you see, as well as green, yellow, orange, and purple.  All of them just didn’t seem to fit very well, so I just went with red.

By the way, a note to the D.A. Tattletales - Maggie Mui is 22 years old.  So keep that in mind.

Bokuman - Maggie Mui (R.O.D. the TV)

This was a commission piece that was done for me by Bokuman.  Because of the lack of money, I had him do the ink sketch of two characters that I had in mind.  The first was Maggie Mui of the anime “R.O.D. the TV”.

Here’s the original commission Commission - StarDragon77

I had asked Bokuman if I could color it and post it here, and according to his commission policy it said it was perfectly alright.  And little did I know that applying my cel-like coloring style would flesh it out so much.

By the way, a note to the D.A. Tattletales and generally anyone who is pissy about nudity - Maggie Mui is 22 years old.  So keep that in mind.
