Coloring Commission - Desscribe - Melissa McNeil by CallMePo

Here we have a coloring commission that Desscribe made to me with a drawing that was done by @callmepo.  Continuing in the tradition that Desscribe has done before, he had another drawing done of an obscure character from comics, this one was from DC comics and she was the girlfriend of Jason Burr and was kidnapped by Kobra and mind controlled into killing Jason Burr.  In some of the page scans that Desscribe had sent to me, she was seen wearing a special type of helmet which you can see here.

Initially when I was commissioned, I asked if he wanted a background but in the course of finishing this up I decided to do something different and extra special for this.  Namely, I wanted to make a nod to old school comics, like the word bubbles and action words along with the dot-like coloring that comics had in those days.  So I using a few techniques I thought of, I made the purple and pink patterned background there and added the word blast “POW!”

Mackie85 - Pin-up Vanessa Colored

Since I had colored one of Mackie85′s pieces before; Princess Daphne Colored, I decided to try my hand at a few other linearts that Mackie85 had done. 

The one that caught my eye were these two:  Pin-up Vanessa lineart version 1 and PIn-up Vanessa Lineart version 2. 

Of course, with Mackie85′s permission, I went ahead and did it.  Thankfully, it was a pretty easy piece to do.  And since there wasn’t that much difference in the lineart, all I had to do was overlay one version of the lineart over the colors that I had laid out. 

So I’d like to thank Mackie85 for allowing me the opportunity to color this.  Thanks much. 

CallMePo - My Animated Harem - Elsa

Here we have the first in a series of pictures I’m planning that features what I call my “Animated Harem”.  Essentially, women whom are my big favorites from all forms of media, movies, anime, video games and so on.

The idea behind this set of pictures is that each woman will be naked but also wearing a BDSM collar with a tag that has my logo/symbol on it.  As soon as the picture was done by CallMePo, I went ahead with the coloring which is pretty simple compared to coloring a character who is wearing clothes. 

As for the background, I admit that I did cheat a little when it came to that in that I used the same background for this as I did for “Modern Elsa”. 

Hope you all like this as much as I did in coloring it.

Coloring Commission - Desscribe - CallmePo - Sexy Cynthia Naked

I liked what I saw immediately because of how it invoked some of the more old school pinups. But like before, the biggest challenge to it all was Cynthia’s hair.  Unlike most characters that I’ve colored linearts of, her hair here is a little more detailed than most and that required a little more jagged lines when it came to the shading.

Coloring Commission - CallMePo - Will Bufford - Harley, Korra and Rogue at Mardi Gras

This is the second coloring commission in the batch from Will Bufford that involves Harley Quinn, Korra and Rogue.  It involves a lineart that he had CallMePo do for him.  The setup is that they’re all at Mardi Gras and they’re getting very…VERY crazy.  Then again, with Harley Quinn, I suppose this is just an average day for her.

Coloring this one was tricky in it’s own area.  Mainly it’s the beads that were the trickiest.  My first thought was to color them in the respective colors to their characters, red for Harley, blue for Korra and green for Rogue.  It was when I was just about done that I found out that the traditional Mardi Gras bead colors were gold, green and purple/pink.  But with the way that the beads turned out, I
liked it too much to make any color changes so I kept it. 

As far as a background goes, initially I wanted to show something of New Orleans but that seemed a little hard to do given the angle this picture was at, so I settled on a close-up of a building with some windows.  But given how it is, I think the background came out well. 

I did also think about throwing in confetti but after doing it and showing it to Will we both came to the conclusion that it was distracting and covered up too much.  So, we axed the confetti and left it as is.

Bokuman - Bunny Girl - Lucy Fire

This is a colored version of the commission Lucy Fire Lineart that was drawn for me by Bokuman

There was a previous version of this one that I did called “Mermaid Lucy Fire”, but after showing the picture to my friend Cl0ckh3art, it was observed that the way that I had down the background, “Water light rays” and the bubbles, it needed a redux to give it a better look.  From the pictures that Cl0ckh3art showed me, there weren’t a lot of bubbles like I had done in the first picture.  In addition to that the bubbles in the previous picture were “Too perfect” and too round.  While bubbles that actually happen in the ocean are a little more misshapen.  And that’s if there are other underwater creatures exuding air.  So, in other words if there were any undersea life beneath Lucy Fire then there would be no need for the bubbles.  

It certainly looks more authentic, doesn’t it?

MJBivouac - Princess Elenore

This was a piece that I had commissioned of the artist who goes by the name MJBivouac I had spoken to this man on a few occasions before I spoke to him about doing this piece and it turned out we are both fans of Ralph Bakshi’s work.

In case you don’t know who Ralph Bakshi is, he’s an animator and director who did movies like “Fritz the Cat”, “Wizards”, “Cool World”, “Coonskin”, “Heavy Traffic” and so on.  In this particular case, Wizards is among my favorites that Bakshi has done and I asked MJBivouac to do a pic of the Fairy Princess Elenore.  He agreed and asked if he could do it in the same art style (the pale tan background) as seen in the films.  I said “Go with it”.  And I also added, “And in the background throw in some suspiciously shaped mushrooms”.  He liked the idea and threw them in.

Spiritto - Topless Ariel

I always thought that the seashell bra for mermaids was a bit much.  Admittedly the film was aimed at children but I can assure you that this picture certainly is not.  Then again, the original story of the Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Anderson wasn’t exactly aimed at children either.  If you don’t believe me will look it up here:

Although I did get into an argument with a friend of mine SerpentRose about the idea being a bit ridiculous about mermaids with breasts.   “How would they feed their young?”  He argued, “The milk would just dissolve into the ocean.” Of course, I countered with the fact that Dolphins and Whales are marine mammals and they do the same.  The reason is because the milk has such a high fat content that the consistency would be that of toothpaste.  And that shut the argument down immediately.

Anyway, when I commissioned this piece to Spiritto she liked the idea.  Except DeviantArt didn’t exactly take a liking to it.  Thus the reason why it’s here.

Bokuman - Bunny Girl - Danica Day

This is a colored version of the Danica Day Lineart that Bokuman did for me.

A while back, I had commissioned an artwork piece for a woman at the Moonlight Bunny Ranch and because of how good it turned out, I had decided to do others.  And one of the girls that came up was Danica Day and so I spoke with her at length about this art idea (as well as other things) and she said that she wanted to be dressed in a sexy track suit outfit as if she were a pit crew member at a car race.

Although as she told me she didn’t want it black - she said she wanted it red (as she told me she loves the color).

The only REAL tough part of this was coloring the checkered part running up the side.  Because not only did I need to keep the pattern going but I also had to keep it in line with the shading.  So what I did in Photoshop was I created a layer and marked which squares would be black and which would be white.

As for the coloring of it, I had already fully colored the suit, but I simply selected the area that I needed to change with the polygon lasso tool, and locked the layer (by doing this I could change the color without really affecting anything else).

I hope you all like it and I have a good feeling that Danica Day will love it as well.
